War Over. Mission accomplished.
What was the mission?
Good job. Very smart.
As for rooting out terrorism, it is not over. An incident took place this morning again at Nagrota. No one can be blamed, as a few guys coming in and striking can not be stopped. But didn’t we know this?
We did, but maybe the mission was something else.
If the ‘war-button’ between two nuclear but poor states is placed in the hands of a few terrorists, our strategists look like very poor thinkers.
But they are very good elsewhere. See how they’ve demolished the opposition! Decimated. If only they applied the same skill in national matters, too.
Maybe it is not a question of skill, but of motivation.
High-ranking but foolish analysts are not talking of the biggest casualty - the Simla Agreement 1972. It alone ensured that the Kashmir issue had to be bipartite. Now, with Uncle Trump forcing our hand, the agreement goes out of the window. After 1972, Kashmir is again under the hands of powerful countries of the world - not India, Pakistan. The first proof is this cease-fire. Next will be some mediated talks soon. Just wait a few days.
Indira Gandhi finished what she started - US Seventh Fleet threat notwithstanding.
Talks are a good thing. But, why so much hullabaloo for years of ‘Talks and Terror don’t go together.’ Not even talks and cricket, or talks and movies.
But talks and Trump do.
If talks must take place, which they must, why not talk directly? When recalcitrant kids invite a monkey to mediate in dividing the chocolate, the monkey makes away with the better part of it.
Some more -
See two ladies, strategically displayed, though out of context, in the top right corner? One is probably from the group denounced aggressively as ‘Puncture repairers, buffalo and mangal sutra thieves, tap thieves, those easily recognised by their dress.’
Only, the dress here is an army uniform. As it was of CQMH Abdul Hamid, Param Vir Chakra.
Pure, unadulterated opportunism. Their trademark.
The lady said on TV, ‘India is a secular country,’ Indeed, it is. In theory and in the constitution. Just as it is a parliamentary democracy in theory and the constitution. Outside the constitution, the parliament need not be consulted before ordering strikes in a neighbouring country, across the international border.
Bad times ahead.
Pak-based terror incidents have been more frequent during the two BJP-ruled periods. If you need more data on them than what is readily available on the Search engines, let me know in the comments.
Above all, stake your claim in the affairs of this country.
